The Chartered Institute of Business Intelligence and Analytics (CIBIA) ensures the integrity, credibility, and global recognition of all its professional certifications. The Certificate Verification Guidelines allow employers, institutions, and individuals to authenticate any certificate awarded by CIBIA.
Purpose of Verification
- To confirm the authenticity of certificates issued by CIBIA.
- To prevent fraud or misrepresentation of qualifications.
- To provide a trusted reference point for employers, clients, and institutions.
- To uphold CIBIA’s reputation as a professional and globally recognized body.
Verification Eligibility
Certificate verification applies to all certificates awarded by CIBIA, including:
- Professional certifications (e.g., CBL, CBIL, CAP, CBAE, CDTAL)
- Membership certificates (Associate, Member, Fellow)
- Any other qualifications or awards issued by CIBIA
Verification is relevant for:
- Employers and institutions checking candidate credentials
- Individuals seeking validation of their own certificates
- Regulatory bodies or professional associations requiring confirmation
Verification Methods
Certificate verification can be conducted through the following channels:
- Official Email Verification
- Verification requests should be sent to verifycertificate@cibiaglobal.org.
- Include the following information:
- Candidate full name
- Certificate title
- Certificate number
- Date of issue (if available)
- Written Verification / Official Letter
- For legal, institutional, or formal requirements, a signed verification letter can be requested from CIBIA.
- Processing typically takes 5–10 business days.
Verification Process
- Submission
- Submit the certificate details via email or official request.
- Authentication
- CIBIA cross-checks the certificate number, candidate details, and issuance record.
- Confirmation
- Verified certificates are confirmed as valid, including:
- Candidate’s full name
- Certificate title
- Date of issue
- Expiry or CPD requirements (if applicable)
- Verified certificates are confirmed as valid, including:
- Reporting Discrepancies
- If a certificate is invalid, expired, or fraudulent, CIBIA will notify the requester and provide guidance on next steps.
5. Guidelines for Employers & Institutions
- Always use the official CIBIA email verification or written request; third-party verification is not authorized.
- Verify the certificate number and candidate name
- Do not accept photocopies without verification; all certificates must be authenticated by CIBIA.
- For bulk verifications, contact CIBIA for institutional verification procedures.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Keep certificate details secure.
- Ensure contact and personal information with CIBIA is current.
- Notify CIBIA immediately if a certificate is lost, damaged, or suspected to be compromised.
- Maintain CPD compliance if required for certification renewal or upgrade.
Fraud Prevention & Penalties
- Any misrepresentation or falsification of CIBIA certificates will result in:
- Revocation of the certificate
- Notification to employers or institutions
- Possible legal action in accordance with U.S. and international laws
